This story happened like it was in the movies, but it was in the real. A friend of mine told me this story some days ago and I would want my readers to enjoy it. Sometimes in 2005 a banker in Lagos was in love with an undergraduate and decided to marry her, but the girl had other plans. So the girl politely refused, after befriending this banker for almost one year.
The banker tried to get to know this girl and her people, because hew would really want to spend his whole life with her, but all to no avail as the girl simply went underground, changing her phone number, address and other contacts. The banker was frustrated, so he went on with his life as if nothing happened.
On a fateful day, he saw right in front of him, a girl bearing a striking resemblance to his former girl, wanting to cash a cheque on his desk. They started a discussion which led to an appointment. Unknown to this guy, this girl was a twin to the other girl, but their identities differ so much. The first girl was lying to this my friend about her identity, no real surnames, no real state of origin, all were fakes.
Until this banker went with his people to the girls’ parents place to do a traditional marriage introduction that the banker came face to face with his former girl! Haba, confusion set in and it took the intervention of the neighbors to settle the arguments.
In the end my guy insisted on marrying his girl, the second one. And the case is still under considerations from the kinsmen. Did this guy commit any sin by insisting on marrying this second girl after dating the first?

UPDATE ON UBA.
Like I wrote here last week about the potentials of this stock, the stock just took off and did a three day run which still does not look like we have seen a weakness yet. This stock has not got as many units of shares floating like other banks in Nigeria. The only thing that will bring down the price of this stock is the increasing activities of market speculators willing to cash out of any company that gives them a quick 15% in a week.
This happened in other stocks recently, like Oceanic bank, PHB, FBN etc. next week will be interesting for this stock, are we going to see a further climb in this stock price or a sudden slump?

EASY WEEKEND FOR CHELSEA FC. ?
We the members of Chelsea supporters club are watching this weekend matches with a smile on our face, that is, if we can snatch a victory from Wigan. It will be interesting to watch the battle between Arsenal and Man Utd. This is because a win for either Man u or arsenal will be a major blessing to our efforts.
I am saying this because if arsenal pulls man u down for us, then we are sniffing the premiership already, and if the opposite of this scenario plays out, then we shall be content to see ourselves separated from arsenal as the points gap will open wider.
This is a must watch match for all soccer loving guys, what a splendid way to end this weekend.

GOSSIP AND CONSEQUENCES.
To entertain my readers this Sunday, I will tell you a story a visiting friend just told me minutes ago. A married man that has lived twenty years with his wife has been receiving some serious nagging from madam on the issue of reported womanizing on the part of the man.
A neighbor has made herself a close friend to the woman and serves only the use of informing madam how her hubby has been going around having flings with anything in skirts. Madam always fumes on hearing such news but will have nothing else to do than nagging the man at night, since there have been no confirmed sightings.
On a very good day, the gossiping neighbor was passing by a hotel and saw the mans car neatly parked at the hotel car park, so she hurried to madams shop and told her of how her husband has gone into the hotel with one small girl minutes ago.
Without waiting to call her hubby the madam of the house rushed to the hotel, and seeing her husband’s car, got enraged and smashed the front and rear windshields of the car with a big stone.
She was fuming outside the hotel complex when her husband walked out with their eldest daughter, an eighteen year old. They had gone there to celebrate the excellent result she made at the university matriculation exams. The man even told her wife that he will take the daughter out in the morning, but she forgot in her rage!
So, when she realized her mistakes, madam fainted…… I will finish the story later; first impressions could be deceptive really.

NEVER INVEST UNDER PRESSURE.
Never allow yourself to be pressurized into buying or selling stocks or any other form of investment. The chances are you will be making the wrong decisions. You should only buy stocks after due diligence checks; act slowly, diligently, with focus and with purpose. If you feel a significant urgency to buy any stock, then you are likely being pushed or influenced by some one else, either a friend or a stock broker, or by something you have read in a news paper or poster, seen on the television, heard or radio etc.
There are millions of stocks all waiting to be bought and none of them is running away. If you don’t take the time to study the stocks, analyze it and act accordingly, you are headed for disaster. Decisions to invest should not be made in a hurry except you have the experience and understanding.

NIGERIAN PROPERTY MARKET.
The Nigerian property market has been quietly growing in leaps and bounds as investors in that sector have been reaping handsomely from land and house sales. Someone once said that land will always rise in value as it is becoming scarcer everyday; this is because God is no longer creating more of it.
In Nigeria, there is this huge market I see that has yet to attain any level of satisfaction. Do you know that Nigeria has more that 140 million citizens, and that is the ones counted in a census that failed to count ten of my fourteen relatives here in Nigeria. We have not started counting the millions living in different countries of the world.
I am of the opinion that the country is under housed, take a trip to most urban areas and see the huge number of tightly packed slums, Ajegunle in Lagos, Coal camp and Abakpa nike in Enugu, Sabon geri in Kano etc. These areas are teeming with humans begging for better housing conditions.
With the anticipated economic boom that will soon happen in Nigeria as a result of better management of our growing oil wealth, there will be better employment opportunities. This will lead to better wages and stronger buying power as there will now be money to be made.
I am an active player in the Nigerian property market and will be looking to partner with any organization or group, to impart my expertise in the ever changing property business. We shall create a business that will be involved in providing land and houses to various classes of workers in different income brackets.
Any interested person or persons can contact me through this medium as I currently have stock of properties located in some eastern states, empty lands and already completed houses for sale or lease.

PLAYING STOCKS WITH 'SCARED' MONEY.
You can’t succeed in the stock market if you are playing with ‘scared’ money, by that term; I mean money you will need to solve your short term problems, like money for rent or for the kid’s school fees. This is because the probability of making a wrong decision will be high, owing to your State of mind as regards the money which you don’t want to lose. There will always be the risk of loss of capital. Investing with scared money may push you to make more mistakes.
For further explanation, the money you have allocated for investing is not to be used for any other purpose, until you have achieved some reasonable success. If you can’t afford to leave the money invested in stocks for some time, you better avoid becoming involved in the venture. If you can afford only N5000.00 per month, you can invest comfortably in the stock market. Your progress may be slower than if you started with a bigger amount of money, but the most important thing is that you begin at all.

UBA
It still amazes me why UBA stock prices have been trading sideways since the beginning of this year. This bank is one of the strongest in the country, well capitalized to the tune of 547 billion naira, good customer service when compared to others in the same industry. The bank has also gone ahead to make waves in its expansion drives to enter several other countries, including London and the USA.
The management of this bank is very focused, always at the forefront of innovation and good ethical practices. Let us not go into profitability as this bank has also established itself as a very well run bank, averaging well over 40% returns in the past year.
So why has the stock price stayed at 49-50 naira for this long? Even in the midst of the Bull Run that happened in the beginning of this year? Some experts has attributed this to the unified banking reporting schedule that will take off later this year, for which I find holes in that story.
This is because some investors will hold on to the stocks, hoping that the announcement in December will be juicy enough to explain the long wait. Other also explained this away as the activities of stock traders, this could also be faulted as trading would have propelled the stock prices upwards as traders are known to speculate wildly. The bank may surprise us with a dividend plus bonus, fat dividend at that!
Whatever it may be holding this stock down, will likely pass as the stock price will rebound in a no distant time. This will happen when bargain hunters and value investors will find out the intrinsic value of this stock. I am also watching this one.

TRANSCORP
The best time to buy a stock is when everything seems wrong with it. This is because by the time everything will be working well enough in a company, the shares will become very expensive.
The shares of Transcorp has been doing all kinds of funny dances, pushed up by inside forces from time to time, falling like a stone some other times. It should be remembered that this company has some good prospects if they can get their acts together.
They are into hotel management, oil wells, telecommunications, etc. All these companies on their own are money spinners, not to talk of what will happen when they all start doing well. Lets keep our eyes on this one.
